From idea to Expert Advisor in three steps

  1. Build. Start from an empty canvas or one of 37 strategy templates. Drag in the blocks you need, wire their YES and NO outputs, and link any setting to an EA input you can tune later.
  2. Test. Import M1 history from your own MetaTrader terminal, pick dates, spread and commission, and run the backtest. Press play to watch it trade bar by bar while the blocks light up on the canvas.
  3. Export. Download readable .mq4 or .mq5 source, or the ready-to-run .ex4 / .ex5 built on our server (Pro). Attach it to a chart in MetaTrader like any other EA.

160+ blocks, grouped by what you want to do

Every block is a decision or an action, so the strategy reads like a flowchart:

  • Entries: indicator conditions and crossovers (RSI, MACD, moving averages, Bollinger Bands, ATR, Stochastic, CCI, Keltner, session VWAP, volume), candle patterns, new highs and lows, opening range breakouts, opening gaps and MACD divergence.
  • Filters: sessions, time windows, weekdays, maximum spread, once per bar, once a day.
  • Orders and trade management: market and pending orders, grids, scale-in, break-even, trailing stops, partial closes, basket take-profit and stop-loss.
  • Risk: position sizing from a risk %, daily drawdown guard, daily equity target, maximum open lots.
  • Everything else: variables, counters, alerts and push notifications, chart drawing, loops over trades and objects, and custom MQL code.

The block reference documents exactly what each block does.

Code you can trust and read

QuantForge generates plain MQL4 or MQL5 with your inputs at the top, comments, and no hidden calls to our servers. Every release is compiled in MetaEditor for both platforms as part of our tests. The EA runs in your own terminal with your own broker: QuantForge never trades for you and never sees your account.

Who it’s for

  • Discretionary traders who want their rules to run without them watching the screen.
  • Prop-firm traders who need daily loss limits and lot caps built in (see EAs for prop-firm rules).
  • MQL developers who want to prototype faster and test before writing code by hand.
  • Educators and signal providers who sell or share EAs: the code is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know MQL4 or MQL5 to build an EA?

No. You build the strategy from blocks such as Crossover, Time / Session Filter, Risk % Lot Calculator or Trailing Stop, and QuantForge writes the MQL for you. If you do know MQL, the exported code is readable and you can edit it, and a Custom MQL code block lets you add your own lines.

Does the exported EA work in both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5?

Yes. Each project targets MT4 or MT5, and you can export the same strategy for either platform. The source compiles in MetaEditor with 0 errors and 0 warnings; on Pro you can also download the compiled .ex4 or .ex5 directly.

Can I sell the EAs I build?

Yes. The MQL you export is yours, including for sale on the MQL5 Market. Your plan pays for the builder, not for the EAs.

Is the backtest the same as MetaTrader's Strategy Tester?

It simulates MetaTrader's 1 minute OHLC model on your own M1 data, with spread, commission, slippage and swap, and runs the same rules as the exported EA. Results can still differ from MetaTrader if the history or costs differ, so you can export the tester settings and repeat any run in MetaTrader to compare. See the Strategy Tester docs.

What does the free plan include?

Three projects, two imported symbols, backtests on H1, H4 and D1 over one year, full MQL4/MQL5 source export and the MQL4 ↔ MQL5 converter. No card is needed. See pricing.
