FAQ

Why does my backtest differ from MetaTrader’s tester?

Usually one of: different history (your import and your broker’s server history may not match bar for bar), different spread or commission settings, or MetaTrader generating more ticks inside each minute than the four QuantForge uses. Export the tester settings from the report and run them in MetaTrader to compare like for like.

Can I trust the starter templates?

They are starting points, not proven systems, and they come without performance claims. Run them on your own data, read the warnings in the report, and test on a demo account before risking money.

Does QuantForge trade for me?

No. It builds and tests EAs. Trading happens in your MetaTrader terminal, with your broker.

Is my data private?

Your projects, imported history and backtests are stored for your account only and protected by row-level security. See the privacy policy.

Which MetaTrader versions are supported?

MetaTrader 5 and MetaTrader 4. Choose the platform per project; the tester follows its rules (MT4 accounts are always hedging).

A block didn’t do what I expected

Open the tester, find the bar on the chart and watch which blocks light up. The Block reference explains each block’s exact behaviour.
