Studio features

The Studio plan adds three tools on top of Pro, plus room for 100 imported symbols.

Optimisation

Open the Optimise tab of the Strategy Tester. It uses the history, dates and costs from Setup.

  1. Tick the inputs to optimise and set From, Step and To for each. Only int and double inputs can be optimised, so link the block settings you want to tune to inputs first (see Inputs).
  2. Pick what to rank by: net profit, profit factor, recovery factor, Sharpe ratio, expected payoff or the lowest drawdown. Runs with fewer than Min. trades sort last.
  3. Choose a forward test share. The grid runs on the earlier part of the dates only; the best ten combinations are then re-tested on the last part, which they never saw.
  4. Start optimisation. Runs are spread over your computer’s cores, so nothing is uploaded and there is no queue. The limit is 5,000 combinations.

Use copies a row’s values into the Setup inputs, so you can run that combination normally, replay it and check it in MetaTrader.

The best in-sample row is usually over-fitted. Prefer combinations that also do well in the forward period and whose neighbouring values score well too.

Monte Carlo analysis

After a backtest, the Monte Carlo tab replays its closed trades thousands of times:

  • Shuffle keeps the same trades in a random order. The final profit doesn’t change, but the drawdown does: it shows how much of the reported drawdown was luck of the order.
  • Resample draws trades at random with replacement, so some trades appear twice and others not at all.
  • Skip trades drops a share of trades at random in every simulation, like missed fills or downtime.

The results show the 5th, 50th and 95th percentile of net profit, final balance and maximum drawdown, the chance of ending with a loss, and the chance of a drawdown at or above your ruin level. The chart shows the range of equity paths with your backtest’s own path on top. Trades keep their size, so compounding is not simulated.

AI assistant

The AI tab in the editor’s right panel chats about the strategy that is open. It sees your blocks, inputs and the latest backtest summary. It can:

  • explain the strategy step by step,
  • point out weak spots and suggest how to test them,
  • propose a changed or new strategy. A proposal shows a card with Apply to the canvas: it replaces the strategy in one step that ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z undoes. Proposals are checked first: unknown blocks, broken wires and loops are refused.

The assistant can be wrong. Backtest every change before trading it.

Credits

Each reply costs credits, depending on its length. Studio includes a monthly allowance (shown under Account → Plan & billing), used first and renewed each month. If you run out, buy a credit pack there; purchased credits never expire. Your strategy and questions are sent to the AI provider QuantForge uses to produce the answer.
